Subject: Apparently, some people found the commercials funny even then
Yes, a big "Thank you" to the uploader of this item. Songs and music are good:
"Way down Yonder" is a nicely jazzy number.
An instrumental whose name escapes me proves to be good and catchy.
"Tenderly" and "Stranger in Paradise" are both good examples of old-style vocal music.

Less successful are the commercials. Even some member of the audience can't stop themselves from laughing. It doesn't help that the worst tobacco commercial since "Lucky Strike Square-Dancing" comes in right in the middle of the show, destroying the mood set by the preceding contents. The presenter of the commercials is a bit angry-looking

Apart from the music, Perry makes a few amusing side-comments as a host, and the children dancers during the first number are charmingly amateurish.

Apart from the expected, there is the note about the show being sent to armed forces, a plug for the March of Dimes (something that seems to appear a lot in these old shows), and the ever-popular CBS logo.

Picture and sound are good for an old kinescope. The series ended, of course, when Perry needed to focus more on his hour-long show.
